How to use the Book discussion board template

  1. Start a board from it

Use this template opens a new Freero board with the Book discussion board template on it (sign up free first). On a board you already have, open Templates in the toolbar and search for “Book discussion board”.

  2. Follow the instruction on the board

“One sticky per idea, with a page number when you can. Read the others’ answers before adding yours, then build on one.”

  3. Fill in each part

    • Who changed the most, and what changed them? Point to a moment in the book.
    • Where and when does it happen, and does it matter? Could the story happen anywhere else?
    • What is the main problem? Is there a problem underneath the obvious one?
    • Which line would you underline? Copy it and say why it stayed with you.
    • What do you predict, or wish had happened? Use a clue from the text.
    • What does this remind you of? Another book, a film, or your own life.
  4. Bring your team and your agents

Invite people to the board or share a link, and work on it together live. The timer is in the top bar, private mode and voting in the board menu, and Claude or ChatGPT can join through Freero’s MCP server.

Work on it with an AI agent

Connect an assistant once and it works on the board with you, with your permissions: by default it reads and proposes, and people decide.

  1. You ask: “Fill in the Book discussion board board from these notes.”

What happens It reads the board, then proposes sticky notes for it. Nothing changes until someone on the board accepts them.

  2. You ask: “Group what we wrote into themes and list the actions.”

What happens It proposes clusters with a title each and task cards for the actions, labelled with its name and yours.
